Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity

Great Ormond Street Hospital is a world-class children’s hospital, with the broadest range of paediatric specialists under one roof in the UK. The hospital has over 150,000 patient visits each year and treats children suffering some of the most complex, life-threatening or life-limiting conditions. Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity needs to raise over £50 million per year to help ensure that children undergoing treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital receive the comfort, privacy and medical expertise they deserve.

With such huge numbers of children requiring specialist treatment, many of the Hospital’s patients and their families are treated in conditions which are crowded, uncomfortable, lacking in privacy and generally falling short of what patients, families and staff require. A number of their intensive care units admit to offering each patient only one-third of the space that staff say they need.

To deliver the best modern care, the hospital needs to:

  • Rebuild and refurbish parts of both the hospital and affiliated buildings.
  • Purchase the most up-to-date medical equipment.
  • Research and develop new and better treatments.
  • Improve accommodation and support services for patient’s families.

For the 2008 financial year, Real Asset Management (RAM) have chosen to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity in their efforts to reach their target of £50 million to boost NHS funding and in turn achieve the above goals.

RAM will be participating in a number of fundraising activities throughout the year in a bid to excede those monies raised for our 2007 charity the Shea French Gibbens Fund.
