RAM takes the High RoadScottish Natural Heritage (SNH), the government's conservation agency in Scotland, has selected RAM's Fixed Asset Management solution following a detailed systems strategy review. The agency, which recently reported cost savings of over 1 million pounds, went live on the RAM system during the first quarter of 2000. SNH, which has almost 40 offices throughout Scotland, will utilise the RAM system for both Historical and Current Cost Accounting on all capitalised items. Through the wider usage and improvements to its information systems, SNH has made significant efficiency gains. Having completed its review, it is confident that it now has the basis for the effective development and use of information systems within the agency for the next five years. ![]() “This was one of the most detailed systems reviews I've been involved in,” said Drew Binnie, the management accounts manager at SNH. “Throughout the evaluation process it was clear that RAM, with its experience in public finance, offered the best all round solution.” RAM, who recently announced the sale of its fixed asset management system to the Quality Assurance Agency, believes that the Public Finance sector will be one of the most dynamic market places over the next two years. “With over 20 years experience in supplying systems to central government”, said Karen Conneely, Real's marketing manager. “I am delighted to see that RAM is still the first choice for finance teams within the Public Sector.” RAM, which has over 200 customers in this sector already using products such as Resource Accounting, Current Cost Accounting, Capital Allowances and Capital Charging & Valuations, has seen a marked increase in enquiries from public finance bodies over the last few months. |
