Cardiff & Vale Trust in RAM![]() Cardiff & Vale NHS Trust, one of the largest in the UK with approximately 11,400 full time staff and an annual income of over £576 million, has selected Real Asset Management's Series4000 (fixed asest management software) solution to ensure full compliance with the requirements of the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety's (DHSSPS) Capital Accounting Manual and also the requirements of the Welsh Assembly Governments' Capital Accounting Manual and NHS Trust Manual for Accounts. “We were previously running the DOS version of RAM's solution,” stated Rhian Selwood, senior financial accountant with the trust. “When a number of the trusts in the area merged we found that we were using two very differently configured DOS versions of RAM's solution and a windows based system from another provider to manage our fixed assets. After careful evaluation it was decided that we would upgrade to the Windows based Series4000 solution provided by RAM and use this across all of the sites. Real Asset Management work closely with the NHS to provide a specialist, scalable system, so it was an excellent choice for us to continue to grow with them. “The benefits of implementing RAM's solution were felt immediately. Previously we had to maintain three systems, all of which were configured and operated differently. Now, user definable analysis and description headings has enabled the software to be tailored to our exact requirements, providing us with a single asset register that is completely stable and is much easier to operate and keep up to date. “Real Asset Management work closely with the NHS to provide a specialist, scalable system”
“As a large NHS Trust we have a huge number of assets to track. Medical equipment, for example, is moved around frequently between buildings and departments. We have just implemented Real Asset Management's fully integrated asset tracking solution, which will enable us to carry out low cost, physical audits. Verified data can then be downloaded into the asset register and invaluable, comprehensive reports can be produced in minutes. “Prior to the Series4000 solution it would take us up to two days to key in individual asset details and run month end reports. Now assets can be uploaded from spreadsheets, a process which takes very little time, freeing up valuable man hours. Also, data links are provided to spreadsheet packages so there is added flexibility to export information into Microsoft Excel for example and distribute any reports produced, via email.”
