Hywel Dda NHS Trust purchases Series4000 to consolidate its asset register across estates, finance and ITHywel Dda NHS Trust, a hospital trust employing 3,200 people and one of the area’s largest employers, has invested over £80,000 in Real Asset Management's (RAM) Series4000, a suite of fixed asset software modules, which will result in standardised asset records and consistency in reporting across the Estates, Finance and IT departments. The Trust, which serves a population of 170,000 in Carmarthenshire and neighbouring counties, had traditionally used separate legacy systems within Estates and Finance in order to manage its asset register and capital charges. The Trust identified a need to update and replace this system as the legacy software was becoming outdated. The implementation of Series4000 will allow employees to easily manage all maintenance and work orders that are raised against specific assets through a single process. An Estates representative for Hywel Dda NHS Trust commented, “A key requirement in Estates is to be able to accurately schedule all maintenance and breakdown maintenance for the assets that we control. We also need to manage all related capital charging across the Trust. Series4000 from RAM allows us to manage this whilst keeping asset information across the Trust standardised.” In addition the ability to prioritise Capital Investment in a structured manner in areas such as Engineering Infrastructure, is evidenced through the use of this software. “Fully compliant with the requirements of all NHS Capital Accounting Manuals”
Fully compliant with the requirements of all NHS Capital Accounting Manuals, Series4000 will also be used byHywel Dda NHS Trust's Finance department for both the processing and forecasting of capital charges and by the IT department to manage the IT helpdesk and all IT assets. A Finance Department representative for the Trust commented, “Following the implementation of RAM's Series4000, we expect to be able to vastly improve accessibility to financial reporting mechanisms in respect of our fixed assets.” The IT Systems Manager for the Trust added, “As well as allowing us to keep detailed and accurate records of all IT equipment and software licences, the IT helpdesk module in Series4000 will also be crucial to the Trust. Now when we take calls, we can link the enquiry directly to specific pieces of hardware which means we can track trends or issues more easily, enabling us to achieve a greater rate of first time fixes.” The Trust was aware that RAM had worked with other NHS Trusts in Wales and this gave it confidence that the system could provide the software that would meet its specific requirements.” |
