NSK Bearings' Finance Team remains ahead of the game with Real Asset Management's (RAM) fixed asset solution

One of the world's leading manufacturers of rolling bearings, automotive components and mechatronic products selects RAM's Asset4000 software to manage assets across its UK sites.
NSK Bearings Peterlee, part of the international NSK group, continues to work alongside RAM by choosing to upgrade to the Windows based Asset4000 (Fixed asset management accounting software solution) solution from its former DOS version of the software.
NSK Bearings Peterlee, established in 1975, is one of five main sites based in the UK, with approximately 500 staff and over 5000 assets to manage. Following a comparative review of Real Asset Management's Asset4000 solution with the fixed asset management capabilities of its DOS version, the company immediately saw the benefits to be realised by moving over to a Windows platform.
“There were a number of reasons why we preferred to stay with this specialist supplier,” declared Allyson Morland, finance administrator at NSK Bearings. “Firstly, the ease with which I could navigate through the screens. It is extremely user friendly. Secondly, the speed with which assets could be imported from spreadsheets was impressive. Since using a specialist fixed asset management system, we really have seen a reduction in the amount of time it takes to enter the data. We used to have to key assets in individually. Now we can import them which means that managing the data can be done simply and efficiently in a single day.”

NSK Bearings appreciates the flexibility and functionality of the Asset4000 software. “The detail needed to produce price per bearing for apportionment on the system is a feature that really caught our attention, as none of the alternative software solutions could offer this. It allows the depreciation charge associated with one asset to be split across two or more cost centres, which is a necessity for our business.
We were also impressed with the quality of the reports that can be produced for period end. Whatever functionality or reporting facility we need, whether it is building relifes or reports to check the assets, it is available on the system. “A final point of praise should go to the helpdesk service. Fixed asset management is usually an area administered by only one or two people in an organisation” concluded Allyson. “As this is certainly the case for us here, it is reassuring that Real Asset Management has such a good helpdesk facility readily available. I have complete confidence that my queries will be resolved efficiently and effectively, every time I require assistance”.
