RAM looks to build on recent successes in housing marketThe group aims to have one million housing sector units using its software by 2010 Real Asset Management Plc (RAM), the fixed asset management software specialist, has today announced that it has reached a significant milestone in the housing sector market with over 250,000 housing units now being managed through its software. “Over the last 2 years the group has doubled its market share in terms of units managed,” said Karen Conneely, Group Marketing Manager. “During that same period sales of its software and services to the housing sector have increased by over 125%. “This is a hugely significant achievement. Not only does it show how successful RAM has been in recent years against well established accounting software vendors in this sector, it also gives our social housing customers and prospects the reassurance that there is an established, best-of-breed alternative to standard bolt-on registers from mainstream suppliers.” Conneely, who is confident RAM will succeed in its long-term goal of seeing 1 million housing units managed by its software by the turn of the decade said, “There are two significant reasons why RAM has been so successful. “Firstly, the increased regulatory requirements from factors such as ‘the decent homes standard’, shared ownership and grant funded capital improvement programmes, are forcing finance and project teams to hold more and more detail against each individual unit. This is having the obvious repercussions for those using spreadsheets or simple registers with limited functionality. “Secondly, the social housing sector is in a period of market consolidation. This has forced many housing groups to evaluate best-of-breed systems which can link fixed asset management, asset tracking and capital project control applications to existing accounting applications. “I believe that associations managing in excess of 1500 units, of which there will be an increased number through consolidation, will be looking to invest in IT to significantly reduce overheads and improve efficiencies,” she said. “Series4000 is already providing its customers in the housing market with an array of business tools which have been specifically designed to give them the depth of management information to make practical changes and save costs across their housing operations.” |
