The first, on the 8th October, was the ABS user conference. The event presented a great opportunity to network with existing customers and prospects about the current challenges they are facing. The main issues that our conversations highlighted were the use of bundled, non-specialist solutions, that regularly do not have the flexibility and functionality needed and the inefficiency of spreadsheet processes.
RAM customers are becoming more and more focused on moving to automated systems and leaving the spreadsheets behind; the user conference was proof of this. It is time to eradicate paper-based processes and invest in a specialist solution that is tailored to your business needs.
The second of the conferences was the ABS World Conference that took place on the 23rd October and had a great strapline: Connect, Collaborate and Innovate for Growth. The world conference was home to a good number of delegates and we were lucky enough to run a session on the day.
As you may know we have recently launched a new asset tracking solution that allows our customers to embrace mobile technology and manage their assets via a smart device. The session, run by Richard Exley, discussed the issues of modern day asset tracking and how the use of a mobile solution can help businesses to increase their efficiency, save costs and ensure data accuracy.
The use of mobile technology within asset tracking is a great step in the right direction for any organisation looking to streamline its asset tracking process. The ease, simplicity and cost effectiveness of using mobile devices that employees already own means that organisations can involve more employees in the auditing process. This helps businesses to transform the formal physical audit into a more informal exercise with multiple users all verifying data on a daily basis if required. This in turn makes the asset register much more accurate and much less taxing on the finance department to maintain, something we know is an ongoing issue for many of our clients.
The events really emphasised to us how many of our customers are embracing the new technologies available to them, which is a very positive indicator that our continued investment in ongoing product innovation is both necessary and welcomed.
If you attended either of the ABS conferences or Richard’s session, we would love to know your feedback from the day. Why not drop us a tweet @realassetmgt and let us know what you thought of the day and the advice.
