Mark Fendick in the hot seat

Jul 02 2014

Mark Fendick is a Senior Maintenance Software Consultant who has recently joined us at RAM. The variety and flexibility of his new role sees him in the office one day, then working in the far flung corners of the country the next, for clients from a variety of different industries.

So, we put him in the hot seat to find out exactly why he loves his job.

1.Full Name?

Mark Fendick

2.Job Title?

Senior Maintenance Software Consultant

3.What was it that attracted you to the position at RAM?

Knowing that I would play an integral role in the implementation of systems across a variety of different businesses was what appealed to me the most. I get a great deal of satisfaction from starting with the bare bones of a system and populating and evolving it until you have a system that delivers on all fronts to a very satisfied client.

4.What does your role as Maintenance Implementation Specialist involve?

My role involves project managing the implementation of RAM’s Computerised Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to new and existing clients. This means being involved in all stages of the project and ensuring that everything is in place for the go live date. It doesn’t just end there though, as I need to be available to provide further assistance and guidance once the system is up and running.

5.What is your favourite colour?

Rather boring choice, but I’d have to go with black. It probably also explains a lot!

6.iPhone or Android?

iPhone. I’ve been an Apple Fanboy ever since I got my first iPod 10 years ago.

7.If you didn’t work at RAM what would you be doing?

If I wasn’t working for RAM, I’d still be managing an Administration/Helpdesk/Reception function for a large Cleaning/Security Service Provider, and pulling my hair out on a daily basis trying to get the CAFM system they have there to operate to a better standard. Needless to say, it wasn’t a RAM CMMS product!

8.Where is your next holiday destination?

At this moment in time, I don’t have anything booked up. If it was up to my daughter, it would probably be Florida and everything that brings with it! I’d be more than happy to settle with a nice quiet resort on one of the Greek islands.

9.Describe yourself in one word?

Considered

10.Who would you like to play you in a film about your life?

I would have to say Johnny Depp. Here’s a guy who has been able to turn his hand to any type of role over the past 20 / 30 years. If anyone could make my life seem interesting and worthy of a movie, I’m pretty certain it would be him!
