You asked, we delivered – a new configuration of Project4000

At RAM, we pride ourselves on not just listening to our customers, but acting upon their feedback. It is really important to us that when our customers ask for additional features or new modules we try our best to create solutions that meet their needs.

So, when we started to discuss the functionality of Project4000 with our existing customers we found that for a lot of them, being able to create assets in the Project4000 system and have them automatically appear in the Asset4000 system, was the functionality they benefitted from the most.

In response to this feedback we decided to improve the integration between Project4000 and Asset4000 and enhance the financial reporting capabilities.  

If you are one of our existing public sector clients, or a client who has assets built up from a number of smaller transactions, then take note.

The main benefit of using the newly configured Project4000 is the ability to track expenditure to invoice level easily, so when you need to prove or explain the return on investment (ROI) on an overall project, for example when constructing a new building, you can identify costs associated with specific assets and  sub total these up at project level. It also enables clients to allocate spend to projects, and spread extra spend from one project across a number of capitalised assets automatically, which means that there is no need to create separate asset records manually.

The new configuration setting uses the original transactions to create the assets, making component accounting very simple. In addition it will make it extremely easy to create reports that list all of the components for each separate building along with asset values, something that will be hugely beneficial in the social housing and NHS sectors for example. This is a key component of the new Project4000 configuration as opposed to the full Project4000 system.

Furthermore, the newly configured module enables Work-In-Progress assets to be used as templates and has new user-defined rules for transaction item categories (eg invoices, journals, etc) all of which will make life easier for the end user.
